Antioch is a Catholic weekend experience for teens led by teens with the help of adult advisors and a priest chaplain. It is called Antioch because, “It was at Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.” (Acts 11:26) The “Antioch Weekend” offers an opportunity for teens to get away for the weekend and discover a little more about who they are, and think about the importance of their relationships with God and others. The weekend consists of talks given by other teens, discussions, reflections, prayer, and time out for just plain fun. The entire weekend passes very quickly but many good friendships have started at Antioch. It may not be for everyone, but it has been a great experience for many. If you are anxious about signing up, talk to someone who has made the weekend or just give it a try. You won’t be sorry.
